Poor customer service

Horrible customer service people who never smile... Not helpful to customers. Plus point is that they have good wifi but almost everywhere is equipped with wifi so it doesnt make a difference.

Good location close to the market

Excellent location. Clean room although a little on the small side for 2 people. Small breakfast room with around 6 tables so get there early! Free wifi Internet. Hotel will book tours for you. Recommend Mekong Delta day tour. Taxi from airport approx 165,000 VD (approx $8.00) - use Vinasun taxis, safest! Close to Ben Tanh market for souvenirs and everything else. Would stay here again due to location.

City tour takes you to a couple of places to try weasel coffee and pho (rice noodles) for lunch. Lots of Vietnamese war history on this tour if you like that kind of thing.

Good value for money, great location

Very good value for money is how I'd described this hotel. The staff is attentive and the hotel is well-located, a short walk from Bến Thành market. It's very new and very clean. Breakfast can be missed though. It was my second trip to HCMC and I didn't bother searching for another hotel. And if i ever went back to HCMC, i'd stay at Sanouva a third time.

I couldn't fault it. Perfect, economical, central.

This is modern, clean, economical, friendly, helpful, central, quiet (we had a room at the back of the hotel - no outside traffic noise). The breakfast was ample. It is a small hotel that was perfect for our needs. Close to markets, 20 mins or so from the airport. I'd stay there again.

Vacation in HCMC - first visit

Hotel location is excellent, for it is within walking distance to many major attractions. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful and they speak pretty good English hence they were able to help in many areas. I think their staff is probably their best asset. Breakfast was included but it was below average. I didn't bother having breakfast after the first day. Hotel is within walking distance to a few great French bakeries so that wasn't a problem. Room is adequate and cosy, though the furnishings are quite old and I believe the mattress was quite worn out. There are two complaints I have about the hotel. Firstly, the sound proofing was terrible. You can hear kids and adults making a lot of noise downstairs late into the night. That is a big problem for I was not able to get a good night's sleep. The other thing was the Mekong Delta trip booked at the front desk by Kim Travel. It was terrible and though lunch was promised, it was like jail food. If you want other food, you can get them at exorbitant prices. I would advise you to get your own day tour to Mekong Delta. This is a blatant tourist trap. Their trip to Cu Chi tunnel was ok. Overall, guess it was ok for the price paid.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get a scooter tour to see the sights. It saves you a lot of time and walking and it's only about 3 hours. You get to see most of the attractions and you can experience what it's like to ride a motorbike in HCMC's crazy traffic.

Small, friendly and close to the centre.

This was a great base for exploring HCMC. Near the market and the Palace, it was an easy walk (or cycle ride?) to most of Central Saigon's tourist spots. Great rooms, ours had a view to the Palace and gardens, and very attentive staff. Breakfast was good, a mix of east and western food.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Presidential Palace, site of the last days of the War in 1975, now an empty reminder of a shameful period in Vietnam's history. The Socialist information makes for interesting reading!

From the moment we arrived to

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Hotel Sanouva was amazing! Not too far from the airport (170 Dong) and very close to the main attractions within HCMC! We could not have chosen a better hotel to stay at. Our room was extremely clean and I felt like I was at home, not in a hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to HCMC! very affordable prices, great customer service, breakfast, helpful staff, english speaking, and VERY clean and BEAUTIFUL!
