Perfect place to relax and retreat

Aore Island Resort is a well managed place with beautifully decorated and maintained rooms and surroundings. The ferry from Luganville across to Aore takes about 15 minutes and runs a few times a day, so you can pop into town for lunch or snack supplies. We arrived on 'island night' which happens once a week and enjoyed a banquet of local foods and watched local dancers and musicians sing and dance. It was great fun and lots of people got up to participate! The staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is basic with fruit, cereal and an assortment of breads and pastries but you can have as much as you want. There are lunch and dinner specials every day as well as an all day fixed menu. The price of meals and alcohol was equivalent to what you would pay eating in restaurants and cafe's in Australia. The beachfront bungalows are well worth the extra cost. My partner and i enjoyed lounging on the hammocks and deck chairs, watching the water glisten and gleam. All in all it was a lovely place to spend 6 nights.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

There is only one free night ferry which runs on Friday nights so i would recommend taking up this option so you can try a restaurant in Luganville.
