good choice for some ... good for me

The hotel is trying to be hip. I wanted to hold it against them because it comes off lame (to me), but the fact is I liked my stay. Namely because the staff was really friendly and helpful. Secondly because the room, very small, renovated from an old SRO hotel, was really comfortable and had everything i needed. i was at a convention and thats close, and everything else is too. I walked all over from belltown to chinatown to capital hill. Of course the downtown stuff is all right there, and the market. The restaurant connected has a nice breakfast. The dinner is ridiculously expensive tho - but theres 100s of other options so no worries.

Perfect for a quick getaway

I needed a place downtown for the night and this fit the bill. While the room is smallish, it was well laid out and stylish. I had a lovely view and was treated so well by the entire staff. The bed was very comfy, if the room was a little chilly without the heater. The valet parking is worth the price, no hassle to find parking or dealing with the weather. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Good location, and value. Clean and interesting room

Hotel was fine however room a little small. Staff has no knowledge of city. Wrong directions to hotel, placed on hold then representative came back on and had no idea why I called. No knowledge of city including transportation options. One staff member was helpful but spoke to two others who were clueless.

Seatlle Weekend

Hotel Max is a great find. We recently stayed for the weekend and found its location to be perfect. Easy to walk to great restaurants and Pike's Market. Only down fall was the parking but there are some options. I would not use the Hotel Max valet because it was $44 when there is an empty lot across the street and right next door for half the price. Also, the rooms are a bit small. We stayed in 2 different rooms and the first room, the toilet and the shower were separate; it felt like showering in a closet. Rooms are pretty tight, we managed just fine but for those who like to spread out and need space, you might feel a little claustrophobic.

Location Location Location

This is what you are paying for. For what you pay, would you think that things like WiFi would be included, but no. Everything is additional, valet parking is required and so on. The room was small and you can tell it was converted from an old apartment complex or something like that, they've just put up bright artwork and carpeting over the old stuff. But like I said, you are paying for the location, which is in walking distance to everything you need.

Close to shopping!!!

Great location for shopping, food and public transport all within 5 mins walk. Room was comfortable, except the a/c was rather noisy to keep on at night and windows cannot be opened. Wouldn't recommend if you are a light sleeper.

Excellent Service

Got free upgrade to top floor! which was really awesome. Front desk staff are very nice. Good system they have with mics to front desk, valet, etc. Kinda like in some clothing stores. Decor is very nice and different than your Holiday Inn, Fairmont, etc. Lots of nice unique art. Even the doors to each room are unique. Wifi worked quite well on iPhones. Tried plugging in tablet to hotel room TV to watch stuff on bigger screen through HDMI cable. TV doesn't let you change inputs... Bathroom is small as many other reviews mentioned. But if you've been on a cruise or at an oil & gas camp in the north, it's about the same. Just set your expections and it's fine. Great locaiton to waterfront and downtown seattle shopping. Parking was expensive... and pretty much had to go with valet with theft issues if you parked on your own on the street lot across from the hotel. Unlimited pick and recall of your valet, but never used it cause everything in downtown is walking distance. They can also hold your luggage for you while you wait to catch your flight or spend the rest of the afternoon walking downtown/waterfront before you head out. Nice free drinking water in the front. They add a hint of fruits in there to give it a nice aroma. Didn't try the gumball machine at the front. Restaurant was closed... but plenty of other good food out there. Said it would be open back in November 2013?

Glorified hostel

We stayed here and got a decent deal for what we believed to be boutique hotel. To be honest it's a glorified hostel. The rooms are absolutely tiny and look directly into office buildings so no privacy. Very little useable space in the bathroom, we were constantly tripping over ourselves. Additionally, there were no tourist leaflets so finding out what to do was a challenge and we had to go to another hotel for help. The parking is highway robbery and difficult to find. Paid $80 for less than 2 days stay! Will not return - very disappointing.

One of the worst experiences we have had!

Booked two months in advance. Paid in full in advance. Phoned the day of arrival to reconfirm our arrival time. When we arrived, the Max had given our rooms away, gave no explanation except that the Manager had been fired earlier in the day, and booked a set of rooms fully 15 miles away. Stay away from this one!

Misleading

Nice lobby, great location, wonderful, yes top notch staff but the room was a dump. Uncomfortable bed, tiny room, noisey air conditioner in window, bathroom scary and without any soap or shampoo. Ended up going to great gym across the street to shower.
