When To Go

As the summer heats up in June through August, the city gets busy hosting tourists from all over the world. Daily high temperatures range from 81°F (27°C) to 85°F (30°C).

Fall and winter bring temperatures in the freezing range and plenty of snow. To visit Philadelphia for a picturesque white winter, come between December and February.

Spring brings moderate weather from March through May, and temperatures hover between 50°F (11°C) and 60°F (17°C).

Getting There

The Philadelphia International Airport is seven miles south of the city center and serves flights from many domestic and international destinations. Upon arrival, the city is accessible by Interstates 95 or 76.

By train, there is the regional commuter service SEPTA, as well as two major train lines: Amtrak and PATCO (Port Authority Transit Corp). PATCO connects commuters and day-trippers from nearby New Jersey, whereas Amtrak provides transportation from further destinations.

Greyhound connects to Philadelphia from many destinations all over the US and has its headquarters in Chinatown at 10th Street and Filbert.
