Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is an iconic landmark in New York City that is a symbol of the strength of the city, and its shape is recognizable around the world. Few people would be unable to recognize the New York City skyline by the shape of this tall tower. This prominent building has been called "The Cathedral of the Skies" and is featured prominently in over 90 movies. However, the Empire State Building isn't just a pretty façade- it is also home to a number of interesting educational, artistic, and culinary attractions to cap off any trip to this legendary tower.
- Cheer on the runners of the Empire State Building Run-Up, an annual New York City foot race from the ground floor to the 86th floor.
- Visit the Dare to Dream exhibit on the 80th floor, which educates patrons about the history and construction of the building.
- Enjoy breathtaking views from the Observatory on the 102nd floor, the highest publicpoint in New York City, before heading downstairs for a fabulous dinner at The Empire Room.
The closest airport to the Empire State Building is the John F. Kennedy International Airport. From the airport, just hail one of the thousands of yellow taxi cabs that swarm the city like bees, and travel downtown to the Empire State Building in classic New York City style. Visitors coming in to the city by train should stop will at nearby Penn Station, a historic station that is within walking distance of this destination and also serves the city’s subway system. Once downtown, traffic tends to be very congested, so most locals and visitors find manoeuvring on foot the most convenient option.
