Location perfect in Las Vegas

Most at this hotel are excellent, good restaurants, the pool (if you have kids), the gym and spa area. Very good value for money. And the indoor Equestrian Centre is absolutely awesome. The bad thing is as in all hotels in Vegas, and that is the smoking, and to avoid the bad effect of second hand smoking while having a drink, you have to get into the three restaurants that have an enclosed setting. Not one of the several bars have a smoke-free environment, neither do several of the less expensive restaurants.

Quality Hotel Close Enough to Everything .... with a car

South Point had huge well appointed, comfortable rooms but didn't have a fridge which magically turned up after we had gone for a walk. The Gym and pool area is absolutely first class There are many meal options on site and we loved the place because we didn't want to be in "the Strip" but able to access it easily for shows etc. It is on the opposite side of the airport to the Strip and further away from traffic noise etc. The events at South Point when we were there were a bonus with a BIG National Horse Barrel Racing event on right inside the complex - amazing! Loved the place and would recommend it .... that's how we found out about it in Australia

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Seriously consider the Grand Canyon Helicopter trip if you have a car and the option of seeing the Canyon out of Williams or Flagstaff as it is far more spectacular their. The chopper is fine if you are short on time but you don't see the massive side of the canyon. That said we enjoyed the Sundance Helicopter tour - they and the pilot Brad were great

WE WILL GO BACK!!!!

This is a very nice hotel......a bit off the strip, however they do provide shuttles to the strip. They have plenty of restaurants, and a very easy hotel to maneuver around. The prices for the restaurants are quite reasonable. We paid 8.00 for an ice cream cone on the strip!!! Ridiculous.

Not a good casino hotel

This hotel has a lot a kids and not for the serious gambler. But if you have a family and want a nice, cheap hotel and don't gamble, this is it. For a casino hotel, they have the wrong idea. I thought that they want gamblers?

Good off-strip casino

I've stayed here many times. The sportsbook is great, the poker room is decent and there's a Steak 'n Shake. What more can you ask for? Yeah it's far from the Strip but in some ways this is a good thing. It's easy to get in and out and they're right by the freeway.

poor maintenance

Registration was quick and seamless. However, we was a bit disappointed when we asked the front desk for a wine opener and they told me that they didn't have any. They did indicated that one could be purchased at the gift shop. When we got to the room, we noticed that the arm rests of the sofa was dirty and that one of the hand towels had a yellow/orange stain (size of a quarter). When the cold water lever is turned on, water from the hot water lever leaks out at a moderate pace. The drain in the sink was clogged as well. Also, we were suprised that there is no ventilation in the bathroom. This concerns me as mold build-up could become an issue. We called the front desk and asked if we could switch to another room. They approved and offered to help us move our luggages (we did it ourselves). They came to our room to give us the key to the new room. The superintendent also came to the room within 10 minutes. The new room didn't have any plumbing issues, but the sofa was filthy.
