Quick get away

Overall, I had a pretty decent stay. The hotel/casino itself had nice amenities, a good selection of restaurants to choose from. I was given a $9 Starbucks voucher, to use by 10am, each day I was there. That was nice. The rooms were comfortable, when I was able to get in it. I had repeated issues with my room key not working. I had to call security to let me in my room at 3am. The air conditioning unit leaked all over the one side of the carpet and wall in the room. Other than that, my stay was good.

Good value but took 3 room changes.

For the money, Rio was a good deal since you are getting a mini suite. But it took 3 room changes to finally get one that was ok... The first room smelled funny and hot in direct afternoon sun.. and the bed was lumpy. Second room was better but had neighbors next door celebrating a birthday... The walls, floors and ceilings are paper thin at Rio, you can hear EVERYTHING! Had issues with TV and AC in the last room but I didn't want to change room again... had enough. Also was charged for the free wireless and snack from the minibar which I didn't take. They reversed the charges after I called. FYI, they took out all the minibars in the hotel the day I left 8/27.

girls birthday getaways

the hotel was a good deal for how much room you got, >600 sq ft versus the average 350 sq ft when you get a room on the strip. Room was clean, staff checking in was very nice and informative. One noted downside was only 3 people working, 1 doing check outs, the counter at the time and the line was very long. It was until we were already up and waited over 20 min that another person came out to help. I had to call the housekeeper to bring more towels, shower cap and razor because I forgot these things and they were nice on the phone and prompt. We had a pretty good view and we didn't even pay pre hand for a view, that is always a good thing about the rio. Floor to ceiling windows are awesome. Something the hotel has no real control over is the guests noise level, our neighbors was so loud and kept getting woke up early morning. Between yelling and loud voices it was hard to sleep. I got the free breakfast with my stay and it was awesome I got to get Starbucks. The food at the cafe grill was delicious. Ate there twice. Didn't use anything I paid the resort fee for so of course i think that's ridiculous but everyone charges it. I would stay here again. The shuttle to Harrahs and Ballys was a great addition too. The men at the bell desk were very courteous as well. Kudos. carpets and lighting is a bit outdated, time to upgrade!

Great trip, mediocre accomodations

Had a great time in Vegas as usual but the hotel was a letdown. First it took over an hour to check in on a Monday evening. Once we reached the desk we were told we were getting one of their recently renovated rooms on a high floor with a pool view. Yes, the room was on a high floor with a great view of the pools but renovated not so much. There were newer carpet and paint, but that's where it ends. The furniture was old and you could see the wood was damaged, the paint on the walls was done poorly and the bed was not very comfortable. The pictures were very deceiving. Also took forever for valet to bring our luggage to the room after checkin.

Never again

The only good thing was the desk staff, very helpful. There 3 nights, room never serviced. Food over-priced and long lines to get in, location is poor. Stay on the Strip so you can a choice.

Bad experiece

I asked for a non-smoking room. When I check in the lady confirmed with me that I would get a non-smoking room. When we got to the room it had a strong smoking smell. I called to complain they told me they were sold out and I couldn't change rooms. They told me that house keeping would come to the room to do some odor treatment but the room would have to be vacant for 1 hours. So before we went out I called for house keeping to come. We left the room for about 5 hours. When we came back the room still smelled. Called again to complain. No one come and I was on hold for 30 mins. We had to sleep in a smoking room the 1st night. The second light they changed our room but did not even upgrade us. Customer Service was not good and the wait time of the phone was long. I called from the room and was on hold for a long time. I had to call with my cell phone to get help. And to top it off the pool was closed.

First impression is the best!

This was our first time in Vegas. The Rio was spectacular. Awesome view of the city and pool from our room. Great customer and room service. The environment was casual. We were there Wednesday thru Sunday. It was so awesome that I called a friend and they hopped on the next flight to enjoy the Rio with us. It was a great trip and loved everything about it. We will do it again and definitely come back.

Great if you're playing in WSOP. Otherwise, not recommended.

I was in Vegas for the WSOP and chose to stay at the Rio as they were hosting the event. The convenience factor was really good, however, the other aspects of the stay were not so up to par. When we checked in, we were assigned to a room modified for someone with mobility issues. The room was dirty, and it looks like the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in a week. The sink would not drain and when we reported this to housekeeping, their solution was to take the stopper out of the sink. Finally, when I went to take a shower, there was a fold down chair taking up most of the shower, and the shower wand would not go high enough to accommodate my height (I'm 6'3). I called their front desk and was informed that I actually had reached the Caesars call centre and was told to go to the lobby to address my issues. When I told the manager about my issues, he was very apologetic and found me a non-smoking room on a lower floor with a horrible view. I say non-smoking as the room had supposedly never been smoked in by a guest, but we could still smell cigarette smoke wafting in through the vents. The second room was reasonably clean, but the bed was fairly uncomfortable.
