Just OK

Definitely an older and outdated hotel. The room needed updated...the toilet was plugged, the sink had a very loud noise when in use...and the air flowed through the window and out the door making a very loud whisteling noise.

Who needs the Strip? old school is cool :)

Our stay at the plaza was great! We had stayed on the strip for 5 nights, and wanted to do an extra night after we had checked out, so we headed to freemont and booked into the plaza. The rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and comfy. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. For those wanting to gamble, there's plenty of action downstairs, or at any one of the other casino's in downtown freemont. Its also about a block from the greyhound terminal if you are travelling on the bus. Next time we come to vegas we are definitely staying here again.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

If you're looking for a cool place to drink while staying downtown - head to Atomic Liquors down the other end of Freemont St (this is where the rat pack hung out in thir heyday)... this place has been recently renovated in the last couple of years but has kept its old vegas charm. Also check out container park just before you reach atomic liquors. plenty of cool eateries and boutique clothing, jewellery and art stores.. free live music and kids activities too

oct 2014 stay

We greatly enjoyed our stay at The Plaza. The staff was pleasant and many of the negatives of other reviews were not found. However the Air Conditioner was weak. It never got the room very cold. We reserved room with 1 king, got 2 queens. staff gave us the option to move following day provided space available, we decided to stay in initial room. The little things around hotel needed attention, wall scuffs, a few missing tiles here and there, just a few to many cigarette butts and minor trash to indicate area not regularly cleaned. Exercise room equipment missing clips and handles rendering sum functions useless. Staff response: "Somebody must have stole them." It just seemed like: "the suit was rumpled and that was deemed ok"
