Clean and comfortable room

I am very meticulous on my hotel rooms...and I was pleasantly surprise when I find out that my room was super nice. Although the hotel needs a bit of updating overall, the room is stayed in is superb! However, need to pay extra for internet....should be free as most hotels nowadays offer this for free. A bit of a walk from the union station although good for a morning walk...I will recommend for those who like a comfortable stay and clean room..

The Washington Court Hotel has

The Washington Court Hotel has been the place we always stay when in DC because of its convenient location. Situated by Union Station (the major train station) and the Capitol. There are rooms with a view of the Capitol. These are our favorites. Close proximity to Constitution Avenue & the National Mall. Great for seeing all of the monuments along the National Mall, as well as all the museums along the way. The lobby is beautiful with airy skylights. The hotel restaurant has a terrace, from which you can dine and look out onto the open lobby. Lovely hotel throughout. Very comfy beds! Staff was extremely cordial and accommodating. Warning to fellow travelers: Not many restaurants are open late around the hotel. Most restaurants and the food court at Union Station close relatively early. You may have to eat at the hotel restaurant or eat before returning to the hotel if you're out late site seeing.

Very good location, at walking distance from the mall and Union Station (lots of nice eating shops). Staff was uninterested and not very helpful, breakfast not included and expensive at the hotel but lots of small breakfast places nearby.

The Hotel was very nice. The room was clean and the staff at the front desk was very helpful in giving us information on where to order food in and on the local tours available to see the city. The one item I would change about the hotel was the parking. $43.00 a night to park a car was a bit excessive. but a room for $90.00 a night in downtown Washington, DC is a great value. Room was quiet and all ammenities worked fine. Had to pay $10.00 a day for internet access though when the hotel's website said it was included. Overall a good stay though.

Minutes away from Union Station

Minutes away from Union Station and all of the Washington attractions, you can't beat this hotel. Two blocks away you will find the city's large homeless shelter which did bring some anxst when we were walking home in the early evening-- we avoided that block in future walks. The hotel itself is top shelf. The room was large and well equipped. I was able to get quite a deal on this hotel which made the stay well worth it. I'm not sure if it the listed $311 a weeknight is something I would pay especially since there is no pool or breakfast included.

The hotel is excellent, but overnight

The hotel is excellent, but overnight parking is excessively expensive at $34/night. Staff courteous and helpful. The disappointment was that the hotel was overbooked and had to put us in a temporary room the first night. Not a big deal, but a disappointing nuisance to deal with at check in.
