First time in San Francisco

This hotel was a major disappointment. Shared toilet, one male and one female per floor of 20 rooms and two showers. The reception staff when we got there, were rude and disinterested. The facilities were the size of a wardrobe and the rooms not much better with a ceiling fan and no airconditioning. It was hotter inside the building than outside and we would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone else

Small room great location

If you are planning for a short getaway to SFO and plan to be outside most of the time, this is a perfect hotel. Its located very near to union square and close to many nearby attractions. However the room is small, very small.... there is hardly any place to walk around. During our stay, on one day we had a fire drill at 3 AM which was not at all acceptable... we ran out of the room and went to the ground floor, where the staffs said that there was no fire and we could go up. however it took them atleast 15 minutes tyo switch off the alarm, which was annoying.

Perfect location! Close to all transportation e.g. Cable car, BART, MUNI buses etc Shared bath is not a problem at all, very clean and always got one vacant to use nearby Room is a bit airless if you don't open the windows -- but opening the windows would be quite noisy Overall good value!

Affordable for a conference at Moscone center

I stayed here for 6 days for a conference. Just 3 minutes walk from Mascone center. That's the best part. Rooms are so small and amenities are good. Free muffins, tea and coffee in am. Access to all downtown shops, close to Bart station. If you book in advance you can't beat the price. Why 4? Smaller room size; bed is just fine.

Great place to stay!

I love this hotel. The rooms are small but quaint and I like the motif. I've stayed in both the rooms with showers and without and both are fine. For The price you can't beat it!

Location is spectaular with a fabulous long boardwalk with the beach on one side and Pebble Beach Golf Club on the other. Rooms are small, but great socialising/reading/writing/contemplation areas dotted all over the centre. Hearty breakfast, helpful staff. Had a great stay and would recommend to all.

Great location, lovely people at reception who were really helpful, breakfast lacked variety, shared bathroom with no basin was interesting and unhygienic.
