One of the best in san diego

We were looking for a place to stay in and I was searching in the website , this hotel came in with high scores and when we tried it we totally understood why. It's a great place to stay for families and friends with excellent views . Don't miss it, it's always crowded on week ends.

Beautiful setting

The Dana hotel for us a young couple with no children was not the right location. It was around a 15 min walk to the beach and at the beach there were no restaurants that appealed to us . We decided to get cabs into San Diego because of this where there is thousands of lovely food choices ... This cost around $30 each way. The Dana was a beautiful clean hotel and the setting was stunning . I feel because of the location so closed to sea world it was very much set us for children which for couples with out children can be very annoying when you are trying to have a swim and the pool is filled with kids and their toys . They even have movie nights for the Children in one of the pools . The hotel has two pools why not make one for kids and the other over 12s . Good hotel if you want the beach and water sports and sea world but not so much if you want to get out sight sea and have a few hours round the pool ....

Initial worries, but it turned out well.

We liked the appearance of the room we got initially, before stepping inside. We had gotten 2 rooms, adjoining one another. We later learned that these were some of the "older" rooms, and we quickly realized that there was a problem. Our AC would not work and it was sweltering in our room, and the one in the adjoining room only worked 1/2 the time. An engineer had to come try to fix it and eventually told us we had to get new rooms due to the AC problem. He said we were going to go to the "newer" rooms--and they were awesome. My parents still had trouble the next morning with their AC unit, but the rooms on that side we great! My family loved the restaurants and pool by "Firefly" restaurant, as well as the view and room service. We loved our balcony over-looking the marina. Next time I'd do it again ONLY if I could request the "newer" side of the resort.

Location Location Location

An amazing location right on the bay. Our first room was tight with 3 people, had a VERY noisy party above us and next door. Our friends had left over food in their fridge from previous guests :-( The staff were more than sympathetic once we complained and handle the situation wonderfully, our upgrade was a much nicer room over looking the pool. All in all they couldn't do enough for us.

Extrodinary Family stay!

We arrived and within minutes we found our room. It was a bit small but comfortable. It was a late check it and we had some trouble finding a parking space but got lucky as someone was leaving. The pools were fantastic!!! they set up a screen in front of the pool (8pm) and we watch a family movie while swimming and enjoying a drink! We will definitely book here again!
