Eden Project

If you are out for a stroll around St Austell, you will certainly come across an odd assembly of super-sized honeycomb-domes protruding from the hills. The Eden Project is a very earth-centric attraction in the United Kingdom, created to educate and promote responsibility in human interactions with the world’s plant life. Home to the largest greenhouse on the planet, it’s an incredible exhibition of growing plant life, innovative architecture, art collections, and permaculture. A full day of activities at the Eden Project can easily include a jungle trek, a trip through South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom, and a Mediterranean adventure.

  • Explore the earth’s largest rainforest at the Rainforest Biome at St Austell’s Eden Project, which allows visitors to discover traditional farming, exotic plants, and recreated waterfalls before soaring above the 50 metre canopy on the lookout.
  • Discover the legendary olive trees, citrus, and herbs of the Mediterranean climate at the Mediterranean Biome, admire the succulent colours of countless tulips, and savour some authentic cuisine from Eden Project ingredients.
  • Venture through fairy-tale inspired arbours, try your hand at building a den, and relish the fragrance of the Eden Project lavender fields at the Outdoor Gardens in St Austell.

The Eden Project is located about five kilometres north of the scenic town of St Austell in the southern United Kingdom. With the primary concern of the Eden Project being sustainability and environmental responsibility, a wonderful way to get there would be on a bicycle. Just head north along Tregonissey Road and turn left at the next turn after Chapel Lane. Discount tickets are offered at the desk when you arrive via public transport, on bike, or on foot. From St Austell’s train station, hop on bus route 101, which will take you to the Eden Project grounds.
