European vacation

Our stay at the Ethos Hotel was very pleasant. The room was of a high quality and the staff were very accommodating. The location is superb, just a short walk to the centre of Oxford and some fabulous nearby eateries. The continental breakfast at the Ethos Caffe was more than enough to get us going for the day. I would recommend eating at the Folly Restaurant, which is less than 1km walk from the Ethos Hotel. It is fantastic.

Not a hotel, more like a flatette

Don't be fooled by the website - this is not an exclusive hotel but more like a room rental with very limited access to staff. The staff are only available from 9am til 5pm. So if you arrive early or later, bad luck! If anything goes wrong, you phone a call centre and if you are lucky you may talk with someone from the hotel. In saying that, the location is great, the room very comfortable and well presented. It's just a pity the service doesn't match.

Modern, luxurious room where you could self-cater

A good location on a pleasant and quiet street just a few minutes below Folly Bridge and close to Christchurch College - a 10 minute walk up to Carfax Tower in central Oxford. Perfect room with sink and microwave and every comfort in a modern and stylish way. Air-conditioned and quickly warmed (on a cold night). Has a good place to tether bikes to the wall. We couldn't think of anything to suggest to better Ethos; we'll be back.

Parking nightmare!

Arrived Saturday morning, all streets apart from one, a short walk away, are residents permit parking only. The one street which didn't require a permit only allowed you to park for 2 hours between 9-4pm with no return within 2 hours. Speaking to the staff the only other option was to park in the park and ride just over a mile away! Why cannot the hotel provide permits to allow their guests to park near the hotel? Not a great start to a weekend away. The hotel was fine, but more of an apartment than hotel. Thin walls between rooms so could hear conversations in room next door. Very inflexible on check in time. Good location, just a short walk into Oxford.

Great Room,Modern and Cosy

The room was Great! All the Sky Tv Channels, Wifi, Ipod Dock, A fridge with freezer and a fantastic en-suite bathroom with under floor heating which was lovely! Can't fault the room. Very Clean! We drove from Kent and when we arrived the surrounding roads were all permit holders only, we risked it for the one night and was lucky not to get a ticket, No information from staff about where to park, The Hotel should get some parking vouchers from the Council for Guests, I would have quite happily of paid £5-10 for a voucher. Despite the parking it is a great Hotel with only a 10minute walk to city centre. Will stay agin when we next visit Oxford.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The Walking guided Tour by the Council Tourist information was brilliant for £8 each.
