This town draws tourists in with its quaint atmosphere and history seen in buildings such as the Northampton Guildhall. Northampton experiences a maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters. Summertime, June through August, has temperatures of about 65°F-70°F (20°C-21°C); temperatures in the fall, winter and spring cool off with highs between 57°F (14°C) to 43°F (6°C). Average rainfall for the area is about 25 inches (635 mm), and it is often unpredictable.
Getting There & Around
The East Midlands Airport and the Luton Airport offer international connections and can easily be reached by the M1. The Birmingham International airport is accessible by train and motorways M6 and M1. Sywell Aerodome, located in town, does not accept international flights.
In town, the Greyfriars Bus station operates two lines for the area: the Stagecoach Northants and the First. Hired cars and walking will also get visitors about town.
