Brilliant Stay

Daughter's room had a problem with the bathroom door locking itself and our room was over the extractor equipment which was very noisy. Sharon of housekeeping, who is fantastic, arranged for our luggage to be moved to other rooms and the next 2 days were great. The staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble, rooms very comfortable but are ready for the refurbishment which is currently in progress. A great choice at the breakfast bar which would suit all requirements. Pool great and we were lucky with the timing and had it to ourselves mostly. The Beauty With Inn is great and, if you want to treat yourself, our massage and facial was wonderful and thoroughly recommended . Will come back when the refurbishment is completed as we would like to see the improvements and visit the area again. Full marks all round.

excellent

A very enjoyable and restful stay. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a minor problem with noise from the air-con unit but the manager moved us into a better room; she could not have been more helpful or friendly. Good luck with the refurbishment and we will come and sample it soon.

noisey!!!!!!!!!!!

all through the night, from early hours until around 6am, was kept awake by the laughing, shouting, running, banging room doors of a group of lads and girls. I was tempted to go out but no doubt there would have been reprocussions from them for the duration of the night. Shame to have this complaint otherwise it would have got higher ratings.

Very good value!

The room was very nice, good sized TV and nice and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and due to my missus being up ill most of the night allowed us to check out at 2pm rather than 11am which was a nice gesture. The only small qualms I have with the hotel is that it is not nearby anything so you would ideally need a car when staying here and our room was right at the end of the corridor which made it a fair walk to reception as the corridors are the longest I've ever seen. Overall well worth the money!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

If you need to buy any snacks or small items it is much better to drive towards Seaton Burn to the co-op 5mins away as the petrol station next to the hotel was pricey! £2.50 for a bottle of lemonade!

Very good very friendly staff

Very good very friendly staff nice rooms a bit away from places though Newcastle is about 6 miles away but that didn't bother us as we were mostly interested in going 25 miles up the road to Alnwick. We'd stay here again.

What one would expect from a Holiday

What one would expect from a Holiday Inn. Reception staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Rowdy guests at 2am and 4am on Saturday night. Clean, well appointed rooms. The pillow scheme is a nice touch. Threadbare towels (standard room). I probably won't stay there again simply because it is too far outside of Newcastle (7 miles from city centre) but the deal meant attractive pricing.

Room service and reception did

Room service and reception did not pick up - I rang 3 times and still got no answer. Curtains falling off the rails in the rooms. Do you need to replace the soap if it has been used once and the guest in staying for another night? Very wasteful.
