A very warm welcome from Leona as we reached the desk. A delightful treat of a muffin and fruit juice before making way to our room.
The double room was average size, airy and light with a large flat screen which made watching the World Cup
There was plenty of drawer space,a comfortable bed, very fast electric kettle and good quality toiletries.
All the staff we encountered were very helpful, friendly and professional. The breakfast and evening meals were of a very high standard and good value. A good selection of meats, fish, vegetables on offer.
It was only a half an hour walk into Newbury Town which has character and great charm. It is steeped in history. We browsed around the market which takes place on a Saturday.
There is a large retail park close to the hotel and we visited Tesco.
It was a great weekend break in a delightful part of the UK.

Evening Meal in the Hotel was superb. We chose the two course option for £19 each. It was buffet style and the choices for the salad were superb; as were the choices of meats, fish and vegetables at the hot bar.
