Located within a Grade II listed Georgian mansion it is ideally situated for enjoying the Cheshire countryside without being under the airport flight path. Recently refurbished to a high standard, it is within easy reach of Manchester's Conference Centre, town hall and cathedral and conveniently located for football and cricket matches at Old Trafford.

Shelter during the rain

We booked the hotel while we were on the road on a very windy and rainy afternoon. The room was small but cozy. The bathroom is clean although it could use a few improvements - the wall paper started peeling off.The shower was dripping. The curtains around the poster bed were dusty. The a/c doesnt seem to work so it was a bit chilly during our stay. Over all still a great accomodation

A short stay

We have used this hotel a few times when flying in and out of Manchester Airport, very convenient and transfers to the airport are included in the price. Different from the big brand hotels typical of most airports and the staff are always helpful and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Airport Visitor.

Down side were the parking which was very difficult on Saturday evening due to a wedding being held at hotel I had to park on a verge and got a call at 12.15 am to move the car. Sunday was almost as bad to get parked. Nowhere else to park. The window had restricted opening for safety reasons and as I was there when the temperature was 26 by day and 17 at night the room was stuffy, no vent fan (broken) or window in the toilet. Good points were that it suited me very well as my visit was the airport and it is well situated for that. Parking was free which was a bonus as everywhere else incurred a charge. Everything I needed was to be found in my room. Enjoyable stay, didnt like the swiping of credt/debit card on arrival. Was asked to pay an extra £4.25p on checking out for a pint of beer (dont drink there unless your happy to pay expensive prices) that I never had, receptionist turned grumpy when I refused to pay for a facility I did not use. You have to ask for the access code for internet as they dont seem to keen to supply it with paperwork.

Just an overnight stay

We only stayed at the Etrop for one night so therefore cannot comment fully on its amenities. However, the staff were pleasant and helpful. The bar food and breakfast were a little expensive but there was loads of it! So what was a very reasonably priced room turned out to be not so reasonable. We were disappointed with the comfort of the bed - I expected the duvet and pillows to be squiggy and lush, but the pillows were a bit hard and the duvet very flat (if that makes sense!) - so not the best nights sleep. The shower however was glorious!
