Lovely setting for a wedding

I attend as part if a wedding reception. It was a lovely place and the staff did their utmost to ensure the day went without a hitch. The room was nice and the spa was free to use even after check out. I didn't have breakfast but most of the other reception did and found it was overpriced. It was buffet style and expensive at £14.95 each. Overall it was a lovely hotel

A fine hotel

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst in the middle of a house move. I knew the hotel by reputation and for conferences and the location was another key factor in the decision to book. The staff were all helpful and very friendly. Breakfast at extra charge (the only meal taken) was excellent. The room was standard, not huge and subject to a very common problem in older hotels - poor sink and bath drainage. It was summer and there was a wedding party in full swing when I arrived. The result was a lot of noise in the corridors until very late - not appreciated by me as an oldie and non wedding guest with an early start to make next morning but I guess there is not much the hotel can do about that. Parking is plentiful but can result in a long long walk to the entrance when the hotel is busy. On balance it was a good stay and value for money.
