Excellent value Hotel for the location.

This hotel has recent been refurbished and so has a real feel of class about it. I chose for a weekend break for my wife and myself mainly because of its convenient location, about 10 minutes' walk from Piccadilly Railway Station and right beside the St Peter's Square stop on the excellent tram network, which we used a few times including to go to the Lowry Gallery, MediaCityUK and Old Trafford. Manchester Art Gallery, which we visited twice and would happily go to again, is just cross the road and it is also 'next door' to Chinatown, with it's numerous restaurants in all price ranges. We had a memorable meal in one of them, chosen on the basis that it was nearly full on a Monday evening. Unfortunately i don't remember its name. We would certainly stay in the Arora again when next in Manchester. The only slight negative is that the hotel's restaurant was very busy on the night we used it and, as a consequence, service was slow. We weren't going out again that evening so it didn't matter. The food was good. though. As far as I know the hotel was full on both of the nights we stayed there, which meant there was a really upbeat atmosphere about the place. We both really liked this hotel.

Great location, good for city break

Arrived at hotel and was helped with luggage at the door. Excellent reception staff very helpful on checking into room, luggage was waiting for us in the room. Overall the hotel Arora is a pleasant hotel with a good restaurant & cocktail bar, however breakfast was a bit hit & miss. When ordering off the menu the waitresses got it wrong twice! also table was not set & had to ask for cups! I would say don't bother with the breakfast as good café nearby. Rooms were comfortable & equipped well but temperature was hard to control & room was too hot. I think this hotel is fine for a short break but would be improved by some refurbishment in the reception area as chairs & fittings look very tired & warn. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly & helpful staff on reception & at the bar, however the breakfast staff need to up their game.

Overnight stay

We were fortunate to get a room with two double beds (for three of us) at very late notice, and at very reasonable cost. The staff were very helpful and the place is certainly secure with its room key operated lift. The room was quiet and the location is superb for the city, with many interesting sights and a great many restaurants and cafes nearby including the Art Gallery which is almost directly opposite. If we could get a similar deal we would use this base again. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

Good central hotel

The Arora is in a great location, across the road from the Art Gallery and China Town, and easy walking distance to Man/Picadilly and Man/Oxford St stations. It's comfortable, with good facilities. The staff experience was a little patchy, but mostly very good. One gripe is that wifi is free for only 30 minutes at a time.

CHRISTMAS MARKET TREAT

Just returned from 3 nights at the Arora. Pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Great bathroom. Bar and dining areas are a little quiet but plenty going on within a 200 metre walk. Perfect location for Christmas Markets and shopping. Will definitely return.

Everything fine beside the check-in staff

A refurbish hotel very comfortable and well placed. However the check-in staff wanted us to downgrade from Superior two double beds into ordinary one double bed. When we complained their excuse was that it was non-precise reservation During the say were problem with bathroom supplies including towels - they were always jut for single room not double. We have to complaint day by day. Beside this I can recommend the hotel
