From corn exchange to high-end shopping centre, what more can one ask of a historic building? After an IRA bombing in 1996, the Triangle, in Manchester, has transformed itself in just this way, and now it is fast becoming the "Covent Garden of the North". The shops are designer, trendy, and high-end. The Triangle has been described as modern, bright and "swish", but it is cunningly hidden within the old corn exchange facade, among other Victorian-era edifices. Come see what's hidden inside, and take in the history of the architecture. After shopping, explore the neighbourhood restaurants and bars.
- Prepare for a night out in Manchester: get your hair coiffed, your skin softened or your eyebrows plucked at one of the salons and spas located in the Triangle.
- Rest your tired feet and sip coffee or opt for a small meal at one of the cafés located in the food court.
- Spend a morning shopping for clothing, shoes and accessories from one of Manchester's unique stores at a designer brand Triangle clothing shop.
The Triangle is located in the city of Manchester’s Millennium Quarter, near to the Urbis museum and the Printworks. The neighbourhood is growing in popularity for shops, restaurants and nightclubs. In the Exchange Square, this shopping mall is just down Market Street from Picadilly – turning right at Marks and Spencer into Exchange Square, and just down the block from Victoria Rail station. Use on the Metrolink, the first light rail tram system in the UK on lines that go to Picadilly Station. Metroshuttle line 2 runs in front of the Triangle and the City Centre bus lines stop in front.
