People’s History Museum
The People’s History Museum of Manchester serves as the national hub for England’s interpretation, conservation and collection of materials on the subject of the working people and their history. It narrates the evolution of democracy and the living experiences of ordinary individuals at work, home or leisure over the past 200 years. Documents in its archives at the People’s History Museum include that of the Labour Party, the Former Communist Party of Great Britain as well topics such as the Peterloo Massacre, the Women’s Suffrage Movement and also the 19th century Trade Unionism.
- Visit the Textile Conservation Studio – This segment of the People’s History Museum was created in 1990 with the aim of conserving the extensive collection of banners available in Manchester.
- Explore the Archive & Study Centre – Come and experience knowledge of the British Union of Fascists and the Spanish Civil War, among other popular topics covered here, but be prepared to reserve an appointment in advance.
- While in Manchester take a Break at the Left Bank Café Bar – The best way to end your exploration at the People’s History Museum would be by having your tea here.
