Palace Theatre hotels
The Palace Theatre has been one of Manchester's premier entertainment venues since the turn of the 20th century. World-renowned performers like Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and Harry Houdini graced her stage in the early years when she was called “The Grand Old Lady of Oxford Street.” The theatre survived German bombs in World War II and saw a few renovations throughout the decades, but neither her popularity nor the quality of her performance venues has ever waned. From classical Shakespeare productions to operas and Broadway hits, the Palace Theatre still features some of the finest shows on the planet.
- Watch a variety of top-notch productions such as plays, musicals, ballet, stand-up comedy, and Vegas-style shows at the Place Theatre in Manchester.
- Enjoy pre-show cocktails or an all-night pub crawl in the many lively Manchester pubs and trendy disco bars on Oxford Road.
- Indulge your taste buds at the various Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, and Japanese restaurants on Oxford Road and in nearby Chinatown.
Palace Theatre is only 15 kilometres from the Manchester International Airport and two kilometres from the city centre. Buses from the airport are rather inexpensive, costing about £3.00, whilst taxis typically cost five times as much. The city is surrounded by the M60 motorway, which is linked to other parts of the U.K. by the M6, M56, M61, and M62 motorways. Numerous public bus routes serve Oxford Road, but one can easily walk or ride a bicycle in this area as well. The Oxford Road train station is just a minute's walk from the theatre.
