Opera House hotels
Originally built in 1912, the Opera House was first christened as the New Theatre. Over the years it has served as a venue for various types of entertainment before finally returning to its original roots as a theatre in the early 1980s. Today, the Opera House serves as a performance hall for both classic and new theatre productions, including “The Phantom of the Opera” and “GHOST: The Musical”. Thanks to the relatively recent development of restaurants and clubs in the surrounding Manchester area, theatre attendees can easily grab a bite to eat prior to entering the theatre for a show.
- Get a pair of tickets for one of the famous live opera productions hosted at the Opera House in Manchester.
- Attend a limited-time engagement of a famous musician or band hosting a concert at the Opera House.
- Have a drink at one of the pubs, bars, or cocktail lounges the surrounds the theatre on Quay Street before or after a performance.
International travellers who fly into the area will likely do so via Manchester International Airport. From the terminal, these visitors can hire a taxi-cab or a rental car to drive to the Opera House district. Those who prefer to take rail service can get on the Northern Rail trains and travel to city’s Piccadilly Station to get access to local transport options. Near the Opera House, there are plenty of public transportation options for getting around. The Oxford Road and Deansgate train stations are located in the area, as is the St. Peter’s Square Metrolink station.
