Location location

As we have gotten older we discovered how important it is to stay at a hotel that is centrally located. The fact that we were so central -- that we could walk everywhere -- was key to the success of our London visit. In addition, the beautiful view from our room overlooking the Thames, and the lovely way we were treated by every single member of the staff, made this trip stand out above the many we have made to London in past years.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

It is a short walk to most of the major art museums and the theatres which were the focus of our trip.

Amazing Hotel, exceptional !!

My husband son and i stayed at the Royal Horseguards hotel for 5 nights in September 2014. The hotel was amazing, the staff were at all times courteous helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely, spacious and inviting. The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of cold and hot dishes, nothing was too much trouble, the staff were most accommodating. The position of the hotel is fabulous, we walked everywhere from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, to Oxford and Regent streets and all the other attractions, it is central and you don't need a car at all. I highly recommend this hotel, number one for location, for accommodation, for the quality of food and service in the restaurant and overall would rate it a 9 out of 10. Its certainly one of the best hotels that we have had the pleasure to visit. Donna Bird Extremely impressed !!

Superb birthday surprise!

I booked this hotel as part of a weekend away for my sisters' birthday and it could not have been any more perfect. The hotel is stunning, the staff were friendly, courteous and went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. The bedroom was excellent, a stunning view over the Thames, the beds were super comfy, bathroom amenities were luxurious and everything was spotlessly clean. Just to top it off, the location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to Trafalgar Square, 15 minutes to Buckingham Palace and 10 minutes walk to theatreland!..10 out of 10 all round!

Best hotel in London

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Horse Guards September 2013. The room was excellent, clean and with a wonderful view of the river and garden. The location is great, with easy access to most the things one wants to visit in London. The Embankment tube station is 3 min from the hotel.

A real treat

Everything was fantastic about our stay, right down to the coffee machine in the room, to free bottled water and excellent room service. The room was generous in size and there were two basins in the bathroom along with a TV. Our view was over the Thames and London Eye and location was brilliant and very close to tube station. The room looked exactly like the internet pictures which was a pleasant surprise. The deal I received on made it reasonable for us to stay there. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if and when I return to London.

great location

perfect location for business or leisure. free wifi (at decent speed) I stayed in the smallest room, but still size was very good (for London standards) and so is insulation. I have stayed in many hotels in London and so far this is my best experience.

Good recovery from disaster...

On our second day of awful weather we got back to the hotel wet and freezing cold ...to find the water barely tepid, the TV not showing the big match, and the heating barely coping. Disaster!! On phoning to reception an engineer appeared within 5 minutes, but the problems could not be fixed so we were upgraded immediately to a fantastic river view executive room - complete with steaming bath water AND the football. Result.
