shockingly poor and waste of money

This is the worst experience of a hotel. Shocking customer service, poor quality of room and breakfast, horrible furniture including beds and tables, waste of money.

Interesting....

The rooms do not have numbers, but names. I stayed in a room called "Green With Envy", and boy, was it ever green! Very comfortable bed, but the bathroom was a bit basic, although it worked just fine. bring. Your own toiletries, though!

Very small rooms. Very budget hotel. Clean and central.

The room was extremely small, as was the ensuite bathroom. Some "ensuite" rooms actually have the private bathroom outside the room along the corridor. My room was extremely small, and up three flights of narrow stairs. However, it was clean and comfortable enough for a night's sleep. The breakfast was not worthwhile; just some cereal and croissant/muffin delivered to your room. It's good enough for a cheap night's sleep near Paddington, but do not expect any luxury.

One night stand

Needed somewhere to stay near Paddington after a flight from Australia & this fitted the bill. Turned out be a good find - staff nice, reception manned 24 hrs, clean & tidy. Room was small & the upper rooms have narrow stairs that made navigating my luggage more difficult but it is an old building with an old style decor. Bed was comfy & I was asleep within 30 mins of getting in the hotel. Nice touch is the continental breakfast delivered to your door

Something Different

Nice to find something different and untraditional. Small but cozy and had character. The staff are helpful but not very lively until you take the time to talk to them We would go again

unexpected neighborhood

The hotel was as described with unique decorations but almost gothic/alice and wonderland like and very dark rooms. It was located near an underground station and convenient it you were going to stay in that neighborhood, though the neighborhood was mostly middle eastern culture and food. I felt safe and fine being there, just didnt read about the types of restaurants in any other reviews. It was not the type of food and neighborhood I was looking for. The shower water temperature was either freezing or scalding. The continental breakfast was fine: croissant, muffin, cereal, and juice. The beds felt like they were from my grandma's time and squeaked every time you moved an inch, could use replacing. I would not return based on the neighborhood, room size, price, and location combination.

Good location, modest conditions

This is a good place, 7 min walk from Paddington station. The hotel is rather modest in terms of comfort, but is kept clean and the staff is friendly.

Very Shabby Chic

Potentially a little gem. Great location close to Hyde Park and Edgeware St Station, helpful staff, very cool vibe and eclectic decor. Breakfast is waiting outside your door in little plastic covered tuppaware trays. Be warned its more a frosties and chocolate muffin than muesli and danish pastry affair. Just needs attention to some relatively major details. 1. Bed. Literally one foot higher on one side than the other, with a significant dip in middle and base broken. 2. Bedside table. Also on a lean, and because of glass top cups slide right off 3. Wall socket/plug outlet very wobbly and one didn't work. A tad death trap. 4. Bathrooms are teeny all in one moulded plastic affairs in corner of room (if you have one - some rooms don't and share). This is not necessarily a negative unless you like some space in your bathroom and a strong shower.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Kebab and Shawarma restaurant between hotel and Edgeware Station is AMAZING. Though better suited for late night munchies due to fluorescent lighting and ambience.
