London short break

This hotel is exactly what I expected it to be. Despite many negative reviews on websites we found it really great. The hotel is convenient for the Tube station with shops nearby. It is clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and friendly.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Ideal Location

Great location, helpful staff and just a short 10-15 mins walk to the Natural History Museum and the V&A. The tube is across the road and there are a good number of cafés around for breakfast (we didn't have this inc. in our hotel booking). The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable, excellent value of money on the deal we were on, as it was cheaper and better than a Premier Inn. Has quite a few business bookings, but fine for couples or families too.

If you wish to visit the V&A as we did, or the Natural History Museum these are both only a short 10-15 mins walk away. Good cafés near the Hotel too!

Millenium - Weekend Visit

Reception staff friendly and checked us in early. However, the room was awful - very cold, dark, tiny bed, dirty, dated, noisy aircon which did not heat the room and not at all enjoyable. The room looked nothing like the website! It's a shame because the Hotel is in a great location. Easy walking access to museums, underground station, Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Gardens.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel parking is very expensive - £37 per day however if you are arriving at the weekend you can park on a meter after 1.30pm for free and also free on Sunday. Just make sure you buy a ticket to cover up to 1.30pm.

Bad experience

Compare to my previous stay in this hotel, I found that the renovation are very old and not well keep, the leather of armchair was peel off and the cleanliness is poor. No food and wine are serving in the club lounge, charges for the storage of luggage(cause after check out will re-check in few days later). I was quite disappointed this time and hope they will improve it.

Handy for Central London

Hotel entrance not on main road so walked past it a couple of times before finding it. Unhappy to find that this hotel charged a fee for Wi-Fi service. Room had 3 failed lightbulbs and one of the curtain pull rods had come loose and not reattached. Room was cold and when AC was activated to heat the room was very noisy. Otherwise double bed was comfortable, TV was very good and breakfasts were excellent.

upmarket hotel with posh doorman and some pretty expensive cars parked outside. Not too posh that they are stuffy and frightening. Good quality rooms, clean and well furnished. Good position by Gloucester road tube. Close to supermarkets and a good pub

Nice Hotel, a little tired

We booked 4 nights at the Hotel mainly because of the location, but also the price package offered. Easy checkin. Our room was a standard room. Nice size, nice bathroom. Cannot complain, except the room was a bit dated and tired. However, on the first night, the heating/ventilation and controls failed. Upon complaint, instead of transferring us, Hotel supplied a heater with a promise to repair next day. That was disappointing. We should have been transferred immediately. I had to leave my room at 4.30am as it was warmer in the lobby than the room! The next morning we protested. I cannot really blame the Hotel for mechanical failure - can happen anytime to anyone. It is how the service recovery is made, that matters. The service recovery was terrible on the first night, but the next morning, was reasonable. The Hotel transferred us to another room and upgraded us. The hotel promised to transfer our bags. They did not. We had to complain at the front desk 3 times! Actually I expected the hotel to refund us the first night rate and an upgrade for the next 3 nights. Thereafter everything was fine as one would expect from a Millennium hotel. Room was clean, slightly larger, sleep was good, larger bed. Can't complain except the room was a bit dated. Breakfast was reasonable, but boring with no change over 4 mornings. However, we did note that the hotel, generally, was dated and needed to be refreshed. The location is wonderful, easy for buses and the underground both round the corner. Overall, because we are forgiving people, we liked the hotel albeit a failure on the first night.
