Great place to stay

This hotel was an easy walk for us, with big suitcases in tow from Paddington station, which delivered us by train from Heathrow airport. The location is great, looking over Hyde Park and surrounding areas and is an easy walk to pretty well everything. We rarely have breakfast at hotels, but we did on at least 2 days here as the offerings were immense and varied, and for barely any price difference to what you pay elsewhere with far less on offer. Most of the staff in general were remarkably snooty and unfriendly here though, unlike anywhere else we have stayed in London, either on this trip or previous trips. It's not so much that any of them were directly rude, it just seemed like not a single person had one iota of care for customers, and it seemed as though guests in general were a nuisance to them. That being said, my mother came to visit us one evening, and she was treated appallingly she was lucky to have even been allowed up to our room. Overall, the hotel was okay, but nothing special, but because of the staff alone, we would not come back. There are far nicer and friendlier places for the same price.

A lovely hotel in a great location

The hotel is just outside the centre of London. The tube station is 2 minutes walk away and within 3 stops (4 mins) you can be in Oxford circus. You can even walk through the park, visit speakers corner and on to Buckingham palace. The hotel itself was well run clean tidy and very friendly, the bar was a little expensive but there is an old fashioned English pub 2minutes walk away.

Wonderful Experience

Our stay at the Lancaster was wonderful, the staff were friendly and more than pleased to help in any way. We were treated more like friends than guests by all of the members of staff we had contact with. The location to buses and the rail system was great and we could even walk to major points in London if we wanted to. The only down side I could think of was that the Thai restaurant was a little on the expensive side. In saying that we would still recommend eating there because the quality of the food and the service was excellent. Should we return to London we would defiantly consider staying at the hotel again.

Great Location

Perfectly located for arrival or departure on Heathrow Express i. 5 minute walk from Paddington Station . Lancaster Undergound behind the hotel . Rooms clean and functional . Great views over Hyde Park towards The London Eye and Shard. Plenty of great restaurants nearby . Excellent if you get a special rate . Pity the cat park was not available . However a private cat park 10 minute walk away .

Perfection to it's BEST @ Lancaster London

Our holiday at The Lancaster London has been simply AMAZING, We were greeted in such a lovely manner by Ms. Ging, You are just magnificent! My partner and myself had our anniversary which we celebrate every year in London, this year was beyond perfect! We were upgraded to a stunning / unbelievable room on the 15th floor, exactly opposite to the London eye, our room was also wonderfully decorated for our celebration, Tube Station is just 2 mins away, hyde park is also right next to the hotel, Oxford Street is just 2 stops away, you can also walk it there in 15 mins, the room service / food is also incredible and the staff manners are just top noch! It definitely felt like home, and will visit Lancaster London very soon. Thank you for making our stay a very memorable one for us! Regards, Chantelle Bonello.

Short stay

Spent 2 nights at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in Lancaster Gate and am pleased to say that the staff were most helpful and charming. The room was small but very clean and adequate (though not stylish) and the bathrooms were tiny. Both of these downsides were reflected in the price which seemed very reasonable for central London. The views from the room over the park were fabulous and the location, being so central, made it easy to get anywhere. Tube station, buses and cabs, all being on the doorstep, were an added bonus, as was being able to just cross the road to be able to walk in the park. I will definitely stay again.

A geat place to stay. Just dont make any phone calls.

The Lancaster is one of the better hotels in the Paddingtom area. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and of reasonable size. The staff are particularly helpful and the food is excellent. But be warned! Phone calls are horrendously expensive, and there is no indication in the room information about the cost of calls from the hotel. I got a bill for 83 pounds for one local call and one call to a mobile number in Sussex. In spite of the phone shock, I would stay there again on my next visit to London.
