Great Surprise Birthday Trip!

Overall, the Citadines apart'hotel at Holborn Covent Garden met all of our expectations. The location is excellent, close to the tube and buses, though we also walked everywhere within the area. The Holborn tube station being on the Picadilly line makes for one easy ride from Heathrow without multiple transfers. The room (Studio premier) was a bit small, but it was enough for the two of us, plus an overnight guest on a roll-away bed. The kitchen is tiny but entirely functional. The bed was comfortable. Our room that faced the back of the building was surprisingly quiet, which facilitated good sleep. We also appreciated the in-room safe with customizable lock, along with the other security features--deadbolt on the room door, key cards open the front access door and the elevators at night the front entrance is locked, opened by key card. We enjoyed the WiFi in the room, along with the tv. The guest elevators were very fast and all public areas were always very clean, including the public toilets off the lobby. We appreciated the 24/7 coffee/tea in the lobby, which allowed us to meet up with our friends in a comfortable setting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and efficient and fulfilled all requests. Small suggestions--put in shower doors instead of a shower curtain that tends to cling. Fix the wobbly floor tiles in the bathroom. Leave more towels, including face/wash clothes. Leave an ABUNDANCE of toilet paper in the room to cover the duration of the stay so that patrons do not need to request tp at the front desk. Adding an alarm clock would be helpful. Perhaps consider putting a vent in the bathroom to deal with the steam and an outlet in the bathroom to use the hairdryer in the bathroom instead of the hallway. We ordered a rollaway bed for 2 nights, but discovered it had 2 missing and 1 broken slat (which was a bit awkward since our guest was large-bodied). The staff were all welcoming and professional but not intrusive, though most did not speak English as their first language and could not offer much help regarding local surroundings. Most of our requests were met--for a non-smoking room not on the ground floor and a rollaway bed for 2 nights. However, we would have appreciated having an EARLY check-in at 9am since we had flown through the night and hadn't slept at all and were exhausted upon arrival. We realize, though, that the unpredictable turn-over of rooms means this cannot always be accommodated. Overall, however, we were pleased with our first experience at the Citadines Holborn-Covent Garden, would stay there again, and have recommended it to friends and family. We would also certainly consider the Citadines Apart'Hotel in other cities.

ok,but not mutch more.

a perfectly ok visit to this hotel. It's advertised as it is in covent garden, it makes it possible, but it's really on the edge. friendly staff at reception. We had booked a surerior apartment for four people, ordinary objects, somewhat worn, needed something feel free maintenance and a good washdown. we lacked bedding for those who would share the sofa bed, but it worked out relatively quickly. we think the price was slightly higher than the value hotelet gave up. We choose possible another hotel next time in London.

Brilliant location --

This hotel is located just across the road from Holborn Station - a tube station that has escalators! So if you have suitcases its perfect for getting to and from Kings Cross and/or Heathrow Airport. It is centrally located on 2 lines which is fabulous for getting around London. My only comment would be the air conditioning -- for summery days it just didn't work. Imagine it would be fine for the cooler nights when you need to warm up.

Good and central hotel

Well-located for business in and around London as close to tube, Kings X and Euston. Good rooms, gym, some decent places to eat nearby and a supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Walls a little thin so although no outside noise, you'll hear what your neighbours are up to, especially if they have children or are having a romantic weekend.

Short break

This was the ideal location for our short break to do a couple of shows which were within easy walking distance. Holborn tube station was 100m away and Covent Garden with all its magic was also a short walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable and cleanliness was great ! A perfect venue which we shall use again !

Convenient location

The location was perfect, the train was only across the road and there was a supermarket and cafes just opposite. Being on the airport line too was handy when we got to Heathrow and trained it to Holborn, it was very quick and easy even with a bunch of luggage (be careful if you are checking in/out during peak time though as the trains get very full). The location was very close to Leicester square which is good for theatres, Chinatown, M&M world and food. The room itself was quite small as we stayed in a studio apartment, but our friends who live there say this is quite common in London, and wasn't a big issue for us. Overall we were very pleased with the location and service.

Location and great concept

Right at Underground, supermarkets, coffee bars, restaurants etc. British Museum, Covent Garden and large parts of Soho and Oxford Street within 5-10 minutes easy walk. Good space in our 2+2 bed room, well equiped small kitchen corner. Only minus was the sofa bed, which was not comfortable for our teenage daugther, but ok for our 10 year old son. Would definitely love to return, but would need to upgrade beds. Not cheap though.

The Soho area with its small shops, restaurants, Carnaby Street, Liberty department store was the most pleasant surprise.
