Awful Christmas experienxe

Entering a lovely reception area we had high hopes for our stay. Our room however was a bitter disappointment. Corridors stinking of cigarette smoke ( in a non-smoking hotel?!), very dirty room with a bathroom worse than youth hostels we have previously stayed in, TV didn't work, shower temperature couldn't be turned down from scorching hot.....and a general smell of dirt. Our complaints weren't addressed whilst there and we left sorely disappointed.

Holiday get away

the room is extreme small so if you are carrying big luggages do not attempt to book this hotel. but the location of this hotel is very convenient because it is only about 5 mins from the Bayswater and queensway station.

Avoid the lower ground floor

Don't get buried in the lower ground floor rooms that are overheated and a bit claustrophobic. Pay more and enjoy the refurbished upper floor rooms if you can afford it and then step out into Queensway and Kensington Palace Gardens for great shopping, great restaurants and beautiful walks. I would go back but not to the so-called (subterranean) Terrace Suite where even in November I had to leave the air conditioning/cool fan on the lowest setting all night in the below ground chamber it was so hot. Try the South Korean supermarket nearby and the wonderful Dim Sum specials at the Kam Tong restuarant just two minutes walk away. Nice, quiet side street, close to Queensway & Baysawter tube stations and a stroll across to Kensington High Street. Overall, pleasant and the staff are helpful.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Eat locally, eat outside the hotel, even for breakfast as the buffet was very sad. Order from the fresh cook menu if you want to stay in and prepare for the day beyond.

Very small room. Very small bathroom

Very small room. Very small bathroom and lots of noise from the pipes (from other rooms). I was given a room at groundfloor. Not recommend. Ask for room further up the floors. The staff started very early and they were noisy! Breakfast was ok, but service slow.

Had a 1st floor room facing the street. Not much traffic so quiet enough. Wouldn't want a room opposite the elevator. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Location was good being close to two subway stations, pubs and restaurants and a good walk throught Kensington Gardens to the West End. No free Wifi though. Considering the prices in London, seems to be reasonable value for money. Would stay there again.

Very near to the Underground station.

Very near to the Underground station. Convenient stores, restaurants around close very late at night. The room is very basic but clean. Keeping luggage in their hotel is chargeable (50p each). This is the first time I've seen hotel do like this.
