Not a good experience

This was our worst experience of a stay in London. First room we were given was depressing and smelt. Alterations were going on which we were not informed of before our stay. Everything looked temporary. Breakfast was not what we were led to believe. There was nowhere to relax. All in all a terrible experience

If you do decide to stay in the area plenty of restaurants but beware. We went to a west end show and decided to go back to Notting Hill for late supper but only 1 restaurant would take a late bookinng

Mixed Experiences

Wen stayed at the Bayswater for about 10 days with a break in the middle while we visited Shrewsbury. our first stay went smoothly, apart from some difficulty getting up and down from the 4th floor as they were doing renovations and the lift was not always working, and sometimes you had to change from one set of stairs to another. we liked the 4th floor though, it was nice and quiet and had a good outlook. The location was handy to public transport and to Kensington gardens. When we came back we were given a refurbished room, although we were supposed to have the same room as before. Then the receptions staff insisted on taking us up to the new room, but made us wait for quarter of an hour while they ran round doing other things, as they were short staffed. The refurbished room had no curtains, no chair, no clothes hangers and the new joinery was obviously of poor quality. The next day when we came back from breakfast the card would not open the door. The master card did not work either. The maintenance man came and it took him about two hours to get the door open as the electronic lock had stopped working. We were then offered another refurbished room which we refused, then a room on the first floor with no outlook, then we obtained a non refurbished room on the 4th floor. The staff were generally helpful though, and our stay was fine after that.

NIce theory

Stayed on business for a single night - needed very basic accommodation - did not even have breakfast as this was provided at the event I was attending. Hotel looks good and the decor is nice - all nearly new/refurbed. Room very small but fine - shower room well set out. Difficulty was the internet was not woring (something to do with BT apparently) with no back-up and the shower water flow was dreadfully slow - almost ended up doing an all-over wash. Disappointing after good first impression

3/4 size bed

The hotel is ideally situated in Bayswater close to main tube lines and bus routes into the city. a short stroll into Kensington Gardens & Hyde Park. The staff are very friendly with a hearty breakfast available. Down side is the 'double room' which only has a 3/4 size bed, not ideal for the larger person.
