Area description
The Apex Temple Court Hotel occupies the site of one of the historic Serjeants' Inns which housed on order of barrister's known as the Serjeants-at-Law. The last record of the Serjeants-at-Law here dates from their departure in 1730. Buildings on the site have changed over the years: the Great Fire of London destroyed the original Inn in 1666. After the Serjeants left, the rebuilt Inn had a number of uses until it was bombed during the Second World War. The current post-war Neo-Georgian building was largely used as offices until being redeveloped as the four star Apex Temple Court Hotel in 2012. The courtyard at Apex Temple Court leads from the Inner Temple onto the famous Fleet Street, the historical home of London's newspaper industry.

Dining

Chambers Lounge and Bar
A feature fireplace creates the main focus with surrounding slatted timber walls, dark metallic wallcoverings and a slate brick chimneypiece adding to a cosey atmosphere. Large oak framed windows are partly screened by decorative shutters. The bar is sculpted out of a heavily grained black and gold marble. Contemporary wingback chairs run along a carpeted area at the lower windows with floor lamps providing the low-level lighting and atmosphere.
Chambers Restaurant
An intimate space, with a fully screened window in a decorative motif at the rear of the room. Specially designed 'candle' lanterns fit between oak slats at varying heights and enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is defined by a full-length oak banquet seat, which breaks and continues in the adjacent brasserie. This room can be fully enclosed using folding doors at the entrance to allow for private dining and parties.

Clean Modern and Comfortable

Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Lovely en suite. View was terrible - close brick wall one window, other window outlook onto dirty looking building. Female receptionist could have been more pleasant when booking in (first impressions). Male receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful when booking out. Very accommodating as I was ill during my stay.

Great for a short stay

We were heading to Somerset House for the evening film show so decided to get a hotel as the journey back would be long, especially at 1am. This hotel was close by, very high quality and reasonably priced for the time of year and location. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and the room was modern, very well presented and clean

Fabulous overnight stay

Staff are warm and friendly, which is a good start. The room was great: comfortable bed, air con, large bathroom. We were out to the midnight matinee at the Shakespeare's Globe, so had a short walk back to the hotel at 3am. That could've been a worry, but the area is very well-lit and safe at night, and convenient for transport links too. The bar and restaurant seemed well-attended, and there was in general a buzzing atmosphere downstairs, which is great. We'll definitely come back if we're in need of somewhere to stay in central London.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

One New Change is great for shopping, eating, drinking or just window shopping. Worth the visit. Go to Bea's of Bloomsbury for great cakes.
