Tate Britain hotels
The famous Tate Britain art gallery is situated on Millbank in London and houses the largest collection of British art in the world, spanning more than five centuries. It is the oldest museum in the Tate gallery network and first opened its doors in 1897. The building itself is located on the site of the former Millbank Prison and features a classical portico and dome that have gone largely unchanged since its construction. The Tate Britain houses works from the 1500’s to the present and features paintings by masters like Francis Bacon and William Blake among its permanent collection.

The Tate Britain is well connected to London’s splendid public transportation and can be reached in a number of ways. The London Underground has three stops within walking distance of the gallery, the closest being Pimlico on the Victoria Line. There are also several bus stops nearby as, well as two stops on the main line train. Cycling is becoming much more popular here and there are three Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations close by. There are bike racks right outside Tate Britain for those who choose to cycle.
