One of the most famous venues for ballet and opera is the Royal Opera House in Central London. This majestic building has been a part of the city since the early 1700s, and is currently home to the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet. Visiting this historic building can be a treat if one plans to attend one of the spectacular performances or simply wishes to tour the building and enjoy afternoon tea at the Royal Opera House’s Amphitheatre Restaurant. No visit to the city would be complete without stopping by this historic building.

Since the Royal Opera House is located in Central London, it can be quite easy to find public transportation that will take you to any one of the several entrances to the theatre. Many buses travel to the area with most stopping at Aldwych, which will give you the best access to the Royal Opera House. In addition, the London Underground or the “Tube” also stops at Covent Garden when one takes the Piccadilly Line. For those who choose to drive their own vehicle, the best parking is at Drury Lane and Shelton Street. For those walking around London, the Royal Opera House cannot be missed, especially at night when it is lit beautifully from below.
