Marylebone - Regent's Park hotels
From Carnaby Street to John Lennon’s apartment, and from Madame Tussauds to busy Oxford Street, London’s Marylebone district is famous for its trendy and vibrant history. Bordered by Regent’s Park and London Zoo to the north, and Mayfair and Hyde Park to the south, Marylebone is centrally located and contains some of the United Kingdom’s most iconic artefacts from recent history. Arthur Conan Doyle, who resided in the area, firmly believed there were fairies at the bottom of his garden. Take a magical mystery tour of Marylebone, and find out for yourself.
- Hold your loved one’s hand and follow the long and winding road through Marylebone and beyond to greater London on the Beatles “In My Life” walking tour.
- Monopolise a seat space at Marylebone Station, and if your luck’s in, you may win second prize in a beauty contest and collect 10 pounds.
- Get a clue at the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street, followed by a short stroll to Upper Wimpole Street to visit the house of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of London’s greatest detective.
Heathrow International Airport and Gatwick Airport are the main points of entry into London, and both have a good range of transport options into the city. Marylebone Station is the terminus of the Chiltern Line, and can be accessed from major London stations. Alternatively, there are a number of buses assigned to the Marylebone route. Route numbers 27, 205, and 453 are 24-hour services, and the N18 runs only at night. Taking the time to walk the district can have its rewards, with houses owned by notable and interesting historic figures dotted all over.
