Maida Vale hotels
Located in the Paddington district, Maida Vale is an affluent neighbourhood in West London. The area is known for its wide, tree-lined avenues, public gardens, and beautiful red-bricked mansions from the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The southern portion of Maida Vale is known as “Little Venice,” due to its location on the canals of London. Maida Vale has long been home to many of London’s most famous artists, including Robert Browning and Sir Alec Guinness. Now upmarket shoppers come to explore the colourful melange of quirky boutiques and restaurants that lines the streets of London’s Little Venice.
- Get transported back in time as you embark on a boat ride down Maida Vale’s Grand Union Canal. Here you can enjoy the Victorian mansions at a leisurely pace.
- Take a tour of BBC Studios, located on Delaware Road, to see where some of London’s most iconic radio shows are recorded.
- Catch a comedy show at the eccentric Canal Café Theatre, a fringe venue located in Little Venice that regularly features trendy acts from around London.
The Maida Vale stop of the London Underground was opened in 1915. Today it still operates between the Kilburn Park and Warwick Avenue stations, making it close to the heart of Maida Vale. The wide, tree-lined boulevards of central Maida Vale seemingly beg to be explored by foot or bicycle, which is a wonderful way to absorb the lovely atmosphere and historic architecture found throughout the neighbourhood. Maida Vale is well-connected to London’s Gatwick Airport. To get to Maida Vale from the airport, take the Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station, followed by the bus to Maida Vale.
