London Eye hotels
The iconic London Eye is a massive Ferris wheel that is situated on the banks of the River Thames in London, England. At 135 metres tall this is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe and one of the most popular attractions in the entire United Kingdom. The London Eye was first opened in 1999 and features 32 sealed capsules that are large enough to accommodate twenty-five people at a time. This giant ride has become one of the symbols of London and offers the most spectacular views of the city.
- Come to the London Eye at night, when the wheel is lit up and passengers can enjoy the lights of London’s famous skyline from a unique perspective.
- Have a drink at the stylish London Eye Barracuda, where you will be greeted by Art Deco décor that has played host to everyone from famous musicians and actors to Prime Ministers and royalty.
- Be amazed by London Eye’s 4D experience, an interactive show that includes snowfall and a dazzling fireworks display that will make you forget you are sitting indoors.
If you want to find the London Eye from just about any point in the city centre just look up, as the iconic wheel towers over the River Thames. The closest stop of the London Underground is at the Waterloo or Westminster station, both of which are within walking distance. The London National Rail service connects at the Waterloo station for those who are coming from outside of area. There are river cruises and taxis that go along the River Thames and stop at the Waterloo Millennium Pier for those who want to approach the wheel by water.
