Houses of Parliament
The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, is not only the meeting place of the two houses of British parliament, but also one of the world's most iconic buildings. Situated on the north bank of the River Thames in the heart of the Westminster Borough of London, the Palace of Westminster was the principal residence of the monarchy during the medieval period, and played an important strategic role in the defence of the city. The Houses of Parliament has been reconstructed many times since and the illuminated towers remain one of this city's greatest architectural achievements.

- Walk the ground and small gardens that surround the Palace of Westminster to see the intricate details of its lavish façade as well as the controversial bronze statue of Oliver Cromwell situated in Cromwell Green.
