Holloway has grown dramatically over the past few years and is now known as a business, shopping, and residential hotspot. It has the highest density of people in London, most of whom are proud fans of the local football team. Luxury development projects continue to pop up, but the city maintains its local character and love of sports, mainly football. Holloway is a popular stop for many underground graffiti artists of the London area, showing its edgier side. This only contributes to the vibrant feel of the city as visitors shop and explore.
- Visit the Arsenal Museum at Emirates Stadium and see the exhibits and sports memorabilia from former players of this local Holloway club.
- Tour the Emirates Stadium, either by self-guided audio tour or on the deluxe “Legends” tour given by one of the London’s football greats.
- Explore the up and coming retail shops and developments in Holloway; with all of the redesigning and expansions of the city, this is one of the most interesting areas of London.
As with most of London, public transportation is a much preferred option to driving. Especially on days that see a football game in town, the tube or bus is highly recommended. The Holloway Road tube station stops by the North Campus of the university. From here, visitors are quite close to the tower building, Stapleton House, and the Learning Centre, and the Islington station is within walking distance as well. Several bus routes also go through the district, bringing you close to all the football excitement of the city.
