St. Thomas’ Hospital in London houses the Florence Nightingale Museum, which stands at the site of the Nightingale Training School for nurses. The museum was established in the year 1982 and later underwent extensive renovation. It traces the life journey of Florence Nightingale from her childhood to the Crimean War where she found worldwide fame as the “Lady with the Lamp” and later as an avid advocate of health reforms. The Museum is dedicated to the remarkable legacy she left behind as founder of modern nursing procedure in Britain and architect of the nursing profession for women the world over.
