Admiralty Arch hotels
Separating Trafalgar Square from the Mall, Admiralty Arch is one of the many iconic London landmarks. The arch was built in tribute to Queen Victoria and commissioned by her son, King Edward VII. Built in stone, the three centre arches are large enough to accommodate cars and the smaller ones provide pedestrian access to Trafalgar Sqaure. The centre arch is reserved for special occasions and ceremonial purposes. This was part of a grand plan to make the area around Buckingham palace quiet and stately and separate it from the livelier parts of town.
- Enjoy a tour of the Admiralty Arch from London's Trafalgar Square, the location of many annual celebrations and one of the most famous squares in the United Kingdom.
- Walk through one of the smaller pedestrian arches in the Admiralty Arch to get the closest view of the structure, since the building is not accessible to the public.
- Peruse the National Gallery and all its treasures located within Trafalgar Square, and within view of Admiralty Arch and the London Mall.
London's impressive Admiralty Arch, located along Cockspur Street, is easily accessible by rental car, public transportation, taxi, and is within walking distance from nearby London attractions. Conveniently located near many major tourist destinations like Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace, the arch is included on many guided bus tours of the city. The London Subway, also known as the Tube, delivers visitors to Admiralty Arch at the Charing Cross Station via the Bakerloo line and the Northern line. London is famous for its double-decker buses and they, too, provide service through the arch.
