Dominated by the spire of St. Wulfram’s Church, the town is best known as the childhood home of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Grantham also has connections to Sir Isaac Newton, who attended Kings School here. The town’s museum features displays about Thatcher, Newton, and the World War II Dambusters. The town’s information centre was formerly the police headquarters where Britain’s first female officer, Edith Smith, worked.
