Handy stop before hitting Edinburgh

We made a relatively short notice decision to stay here while travelling around Scotland, before we hit Edinburgh. Hotel looks nice, with lovely grounds and big car park. Hotel has obviously started to really focus on developing fitness focus to the place, however this may be at the expense of your every day traveller. We were given a room on the 2nd floor, however this ended up being a walk up a few flights of stairs with our luggage, with no assistance offered, as there are no lifts. Dining and bar were ok but a little limited and we were not able to get a hot chocolate as facilities were not working.
