Most valuable stay in Edinburgh

The hotel might be a bit ancient by modern standards but the service is very high standard and cleanliness is impeccable. The location is just on the east side of princess street on calton square, it was perfect for us.

Girly 3 days in Edinburgh

Got off the bus and straight in to the Hotel - couldn't be more central. It was grand being able to get in to our room straight away Only slept in the hotel as we were out for all our meals, but found everything we wanted in our room. Had a great time - can't wait to go back! Staff excellent and very friendly and helpful - nothing was any bother.

Perfect location pity about the hotel

Whilst this is my third stay at this hotel because of its brilliant location virtually on Princess Street & ideal for the station, unfortunately I was far from happy with my room, because of the following : 1) The window would not shut because the top hing had broken, so not only was it cold in the room, the incessant traffic noise was virtually unbearable. - reported on checking out. 2) There was a fault on the ITV channel on the television again reported but was told it was a problem that they had been suffering from for a while. 3) Bathroom door would not stay closed - forgot to report. Basically the hotel position is brilliant, but it is in dire need of upgrading considering what they are charging.

Room ok - bathroom awful

The bedroom was reasonably decorated, the bed comfortable but the central heating made a knocking time through the night. The bathroom was in poor condition, rusty shower curtain rail, poorly repaired chips in the bath and mouldy and dirty tiles around the bath. My room certainly didn't warrent 4 stars

Very good hotel

An enjoyable place to stay, Next to the shops, minutes away from the PlayHouse. Clean rooms, great staff. A warm and friendly welcome. My only complaint is the pricey breakfast. Go to the centre across the road, where you can get a lovely breakfast for £5 not £15pp.
