For business, for pleasure, our location could hardly be bettered. With its pretty setting on Union Canal, the peaceful surroundings at EQ2 belie its location in the heart of the city. The Castle, sitting high above Princes Street, is 15 minutes walk away. Holy rood Palace is a further 15 minutes away, although a walk down the historic Royal Mile on the way is likely to detain you a little longer, thanks to its unique blend of history, bars, cafes, shops and street theatre.

Have stayed here several times

Have stayed here several times - it is a good base for business users. Can seem a bit off the track but in fact centrally located. The location is ideal for a city centre base - no traffic noise and very little pedestrian noise too. Very noisy early morning carpet cleaning in the hallway and being phoned up by reception 5 minutes after the due checkout (making me go back into room I was exiting) were only two niggles. They seem to have stopped leaving breakfast items in the fridge - no great hardship as there are several minmarkets nearby including a Sanisburys and Co-op. Pleasnat, reasonably kitted out, anonymous accomodation near Edinburgh city centre at a reasonable rate (for the UK).
