Long weekend

A group of 8 visiting Edinburgh. Hotel at the end of Princess St and with easy access to all of the visitor attractions around the city, either by walking or bus. Took the tram from the airport to the hotel, which was quick, easy and clean. Did many of the traditional attractions, would suggest booking tickets online especially the castle as the queues can be very long, just print off tickets when you arrive.

Fifth annual visit

Special visit this year celebrating 40 years marriage and retirement. We love this hotel, location is perfect for bars, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Everything is in walking distance. The bottle of prosecco and chocolates which were in our room with compliments from the hotel were a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. We recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Good stay during business trip

It was a good stay during business trip. The room was very clean and comfortable. Location is good. However there are few "minus" points such as: the drainage of the sink in the bath room was bad on the first arrival day, the glass door of the shower room makes noise when open/close, the air con turn off automatically in the middle of night.

the room was without any view, just old wall opposite, 1 M ahead of the window, big disappoinment for me. I cannot recommend this kind of room/hotel, also the price is high and that kind of room.

Weekend in Edinburgh

The hotel itself was well located within walking distance of the railway station, Edinburgh Castle and alot of other attractions. The hotel itself had a nice modern decor. The 24 hour bar was also a plus. The hotel room itself was very clean and comfortable apart from the hot water in the shower which was just lukewarm for the whole stay. The staff both in reception and at breakfast were not overly friendly and helpful and this would have made the stay alot more enjoyable. The tour desk person on the other hand was very friendly and quite helpful.

Wonderful Hotel, Fantastic Staff

Sorry the 4* rating on value was because I booked the busiest week-end of the Edinburgh Festival which was quite expensive, but otherwise this hotel was brilliant. Great location with fantastic staff members who were happy to help out with restaurant reservations (on a very busy Saturday night) and hold my large suitcase as I went on an overnight tour to the Highlands (even though I was staying at their sister hotel on my return). The duck was a cute idea and I'll try to upload the photo for the competition soon.
