Liberton is located in Scotland and is one of the suburbs of Edinburgh. The area is mostly made up of houses, but visitors to the area will find stables and riding school. Nearby is Braid Hills with beautiful views and lovely golf courses for members or visitors. This is a great area for families with children to go sledding during the winter. Within this suburb lie four individual communities: Kirk Liberton, Over Liberton, Liberton Dams, and Nether Liberton. These four areas each have their own unique qualities, making Liberton a special area for tourists.
- Visit Liberton House to see the well-preserved 16th century house south of Braid Hills as well as the medieval tower house that has been converted into an agricultural building.
- Stop by the graveyard at Liberton Church in Edinburgh that dates back to the early 19th century and see the memorable tombstone that depicts a ploughing scene.
- Enjoy an afternoon of pony trekking to Braid Hills in Edinburgh from the riding stables and see the scenic countryside with a leisurely ride.
Liberton is easily accessible from all areas of Edinburgh. Any Lothian bus with a destination of Liberton on their list of stops will take you to the suburb. You can also hire a taxi to get you to Liberton. If you prefer to be independent, a car for hire will get you around the area and to the attractions you want to see. A701 will take you right into Liberton from the city centre, or you can get there from the south on A772. Liberton Road is the main access into the town and you can easily find parking.
