Juniper Green hotels
Juniper Green is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Edinburgh. The village is located in southeast Scotland and measures 259 square kilometres. The earliest records of Juniper Green date back to1707 when its major businesses consisted of paper and snuff production. Today, Juniper Green is filled with many local attractions and landmarks, as well as fun-filled activities. Two local, entertaining activities include rat racing and the Aerial Assault Course, whilst The Palace of Holyroodhouse and the city's dungeon are two extraordinary area landmarks that are popular amongst visitors.
- Visit the Edinburgh Dungeon for a guided tour featuring two thrill rides and live-action performances that detail some of the most horrifying tales from the city's past.
- Tour the grounds of the Palace of Holyroodhouse near Juniper Green; built for use by the Royal Family, the palace is open for daily tours that feature paintings, antique furniture, and historical artefacts.
- Admire the unique style of the Edinburgh Castle fortress, made of volcanic rock and located on Castlehill; guests can enjoy visiting the war museum, and viewing historic Scottish jewels and surveying the impressive nearby canyon.
Many visitors arrive to the city via the Edinburgh Airport. Rental cars may be secured at the airport, though traffic within the city is often heavy and parking can be an issue. Whilst travelling throughout Juniper Green, visitors may take the 44, 44N, and the 45 bus route to most area attractions. Any of these buses will get you to your destination along the A70, the main road in Scotland. These buses are serviced by double-levelled Lothian Bus Company, the only municipal bus company in the country. Taxis are also available within Edinburgh, and provide service to most outlying suburbs.
