Ingliston is an area situated in the western part of Edinburgh, Scotland, and is known largely as the home of the Edinburgh Airport. Since Ingliston is somewhat of an airport town there is a bevy of hotels, restaurants, and convention centres to handle all of the visitors coming into the city. Prior to the construction of the airport, Ingliston was known primarily for its large, open-air markets that have largely been replaced by bed and breakfasts, hotels, and retail shopping centres. Ingliston is the gateway to Edinburgh and almost all travellers to the city will spend some time there.
- Catch a concert or attend a trade show at the Royal Highland Centre, the largest indoor-outdoor venue in Edinburgh that regularly features a wide array of interesting shows and performances.
- Come face-to-face with interesting wildlife at the Edinburgh Zoo, located just a short distance from Ingliston and featuring the largest collection of animals in the country.
- Check out the magnificent Eagle Rock, a formation along the coast that offers some of the best views in the city.
