Gogar, a village located about 9 kilometres west of Edinburgh, has a rich history. There are hundreds of buildings of great historical value in this village, such as the Hill Fort sites and the standing stones that leave many tourists in awe. There is much to see in this medieval village, including the historical remains of events that shaped Gogar, like the small Kirk church. Dating back to the 12th century, this church has since been renovated and used for other purposes, and is currently a workshop for a cabinetmaker. This wonderful village is an absolute treat for all visitors.

Gogar is located in the rural Edinburgh area, to the west to the city, near Maybury and Edinburgh Park. Visitors flying into the area should land at the Edinburgh Airport. Those who rent a vehicle can take the M8 to reach Gogar. For travellers without a car, the Uphall train stop is the closest railway station. From here, visitors can take bus 22 to the village. Buses numbered 31 and 900 also run to this area. Once in the town, it is easy to walk around, drive, or take a local taxi to the attractions.
