Georgian House hotels
The 1796 Georgian House is a fully restored and lavishly refurnished townhouse located at Charlotte Square in the centre of the historic New Town of Edinburgh, Scotland. Welcoming over 40,000 visitors every year, this destination draws heavy holidaymaker and local admiration alike. The Georgian House’s first occupants were the wealthy Lamont family (1796-1815), and many of the family’s heirlooms, such as antique porcelain, paintings, furniture, silverware, and furnishings, most dating back to the Georgian period, can still be admired today. Georgian House, open from March to November, is the finest example of aristocratic life in 18th century Scotland—simply a must-see.

- Luxuriate in the lavishly appointed first floor Drawing Room, with its ancient square piano, fine paintings, and neo-classic marble fireplace, the spot where John Lamont entertained his wealthy guests and clients.
The city centre’s Georgian House is located within a 15-minute walk from Haymarket and Waverley railway stations, as well as a short distance from the western end of Princess Street and hotels located in the west end area. This world-class destination is also serviced by regular Airlink buses, which operate from the Edinburgh International Airport. Several Lothian buses run to Princess Street from Colinton, Granton Square, Cramond, Clovenstone, Westburn, and Ingliston Park. Biking enthusiasts can hire their preferred choice of travel and follow the National Cycle Lane-1, which passes through Charlotte Square and Georgian House.
